Eirebloc Ltd, is part of the GP Wood Group, and is a specialist manufacturer of high-performance composite pallet blocks located in Dunisky, Lissarda, County Cork, Ireland

Established in 2006, the company operates a highly advanced purpose-built factory. We process recycled wood and timber byproducts into durable, sustainable components for the global wood-packaging and logistics industries.

Born out of eco-focused research alongside the European Union’s LIFE Programme, we specialise in adding value to reclaimed timber. Our manufacturing process achieves a 33% reduction in environmental load compared to using virgin wood.

Our composite wooden pallet blocks hold FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council) and PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) Chain of Custody Certification and EPAL certification.

Part of the GP Wood Group, Eirebloc serves more than 200 regular customers across 15 countries.

What’s in a name?

The name Eirebloc is derived from Éire (pronounced air’-a), being the Irish language name for Ireland

The name “Éire” has been used on Irish postage stamps since 1922, on all Irish coinage including the Euro coins and on passports since 1937.

As a language, Irish, was the most widely spoken language on the island of Ireland until the 19th century but now remains spoken only in small pockets of the country called Gaeltachtaí. Fortunately, one of those few remaining Gaeltachtaí is located just 10 km west of Eirebloc.

So, for us, the name Eirebloc is a small but important reminder of the origins of the company and the culture of our surroundings.
